Raise the Red Flag[edit]

regarding this change, sounds interesting, i have two questions:

  1. what is the source?
  2. which part of "Trance Mutation" is exactly sampled in the song? i would like to verify, say, by changing the pitch or tempo of the sample comparing two tracks

I suppose the audio comes directly from the movie, this scene: https://giphy.com/gifs/arrowvideo-arrow-video-the-holy-mountain-jodorowsky-WQHDcwfnVLazzyXMiH . I'll try to find a clip with audio or more info, time permitting MindBoosterNoori (talk) 11:38, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
i downloaded the "Trance Mutation", as stated in the edit, audio from YouTube (id: EYa-P4e2O2I) as well as i did for RtRF. if the latter is sped up by two (increasing the pitch only, tempo does not play a great role here), it clearly sounds Manson saying "I don't give a fuck if you say you're sorry" with some bell-like sound on background. the most reminiscent part i could find in "Trance Mutation" is a part that features "throat singing" in the beginning with bells on background. but i can't hear the "throat singing" in the intro to RtRF. this makes me think at least one of:
  1. i targeted a wrong slice in "Trance Mutation" (the slice i chose starts at 00:00)
  2. i didn't configure that comparison well (say, i configured wrong pitch or wrong tempo even if they are close)
  3. i downloaded whatever but "Trance Mutation"
  4. "Trance Mutation" is not related to the RtRF, and is confused with the slowed down "I don't give a fuck..."
  5. whatever else
MindBoosterNoori, could you please provide the original source that assumption was taken from? nothing (talk) 18:26, 9 September 2024 (UTC)

I should have confirmed this before adding it on the wiki 😞. I checked and in the movie the audio is on the same speed than in the soundtrack (clip here: https://youtu.be/PNkSbv8z2NQ ) so if there's any truth in this, the audio needs to be at least stretched. I will try to do some experiments with it soon, to see if I can come up with something similar. I also searched and found the "source" of this claim again: it was in https://www.facebook.com/share/p/CZYNyaW12KLz3jUp/ (post and comments). MindBoosterNoori (talk) 20:27, 9 September 2024 (UTC)

ah, no worries about that, man. the wiki contains much information that requires confirmation and this information has been added long and long time ago (like that you requested the source that claims "The Dope Show" was the most successful single), so i don't even believe it's all true in principle. this is why we have the Confirm template around, and it is used far away from all cases. really nothing to worry about. and if you'd really find how that was sampled in RtRF, it would be just great! nothing (talk) 04:08, 10 September 2024 (UTC)

Lunchbox[edit]

I won't edit the page because I may be wrong, but isn't the Down in the Park sample actually:

"All that I have left of her are a few burned pictures that I keep in the dictionary under the word: girl.".

Source of Coma Black Intro Sample?[edit]

I can't seem to find the source of this sample attested anywhere online.

The Nachtkabarett states "The words which are spoken at the beginning of Coma Black, are: "A loved one laid his head in her lap. Red roses fell to the floor, and the world stood still." A reference to Jackie O holding Kennedy's head after his assasination [sic]" at http://www.nachtkabarett.com/theDevilsNotebook/HolyWood but doesn't overtly state the source.

It doesn't sound like the voice of any band member as far as I know, but I guess it could have been spoken by someone they employed.

I Dispute the Tourniquet "I Want to Control Her" Reference[edit]

I've never heard anything on Tourniquet that sounds remotely like "Perhaps I have weakened her body. I want to control her." I'm not sure where this is claimed to occur, since the only (easily perceptible) sample is at the very beginning of the song, which is a backmasked recording of Manson saying "This is my lowest point of vulnerability." as attested in The Long Hard Road Out of Hell and at The Devil's Notebook on the NK. I'm adding the reference to "lowest point" backmasked sample and will leave the prior assertion in place

Samples at the Beginning of Wormboy?[edit]

At the risk of prejudicing someone's judgment, I think it kind of sounds like:

"My computer...a copy of the circuit. Oh it’s awesome! Where is there a Wurlitzer line absorption? We simply suffer Haldon to...a howitzer; a world."

I actually think that the line "Oh it's awesome!" is clearly audible. But otherwise I'm confident that very little of that is accurate, if indeed there is meaningful speech at all. Any ideas? This one's been killing me for over four years now!
