Music details[edit]
Reviewing for Thrash Hits, Hugh Platt was displeased that "after an [sic] record featuring some of his best material for nearly a decade, closing the album with the hands-off minimalism of album '15' is akin to ending on a petulant sigh, rather than the defiant final middle-finger salute The High End of Low surely deserves."[1]
“ | "...and then, January 4, at midnight, when it was becoming my birthday, I sang 15. There were no lyrics written down. I sang and said exactly what I felt that day. It was almost like an end-title credit for me, what you hear while you're walking out of the movie theatre" | ” |
—Marilyn Manson Interview with Revolver Magazine |
In his review for The Quietus, John Robb gave a surprisingly sparse analysis of "15", although he did highlight that with its "descending riff" and its "lying-in-bed, fuck-everything sulkiness, [...] '15' drools with its own lethargic hatred."[2]

Lyrics[edit]
If you can hear this don't assume that I'm talking to you Yesterday everything, I thought I believed in died but today is my birthday today is my birthday I don't need you, I'll say it to myself It doesn't mean I won't need somebody anyone with half a soul will hear this and they'll never leave me if you don't know what forever feels like i'll show you what it feels like without it if you don't know what forever feels like i'll show you what it feels like without it this time I won't hesitate to kill to protect what I believe in this time I won't hesitate to kill to protect what I believe in i can get by now I'm not really dead but I really needed someone to save me leaving me alone to die is worse than having the guts to kill me if you don't know what forever feels like i'll show you what it feels like without it if you don't know what forever feels like i'll show you what it feels like without it this time I won't hesitate to kill to protect what I believe in this time I won't hesitate to kill to protect what I believe in not letting you win won't satisfy me I'll teach you about loss

Marilyn Manson on 15[edit]
“ | The 15 that I also refer to has several different importances. I've noticed that a lot of you have been coming up with your theories, and most of them are correct. And I think the more that you look, the more you'll discover. Fifteen is Biblical. Fifteen is numerological. Fifteen does correspond to the album's release date. Fifteen does correspond to the number six. Fifteen does correspond to my birthdate. Fifteen does correspond to half of my age this January fifth, which is also one-five. There are a lot of very important numbers that help fulfill the prophesy that I kind of created for myself on Antichrist Superstar. Hopefully, that answers that question for you. (Confirm) | ” |
