The single cover[edit]

i just put a redirect for the cover - it's a common practice to say "it's the same so far but may change in the future". and will be much easier to find which pages should be changed afterwards: it will be just changed everywhere

i think that the cover used currently on, say, YouTube is nothing more than a placeholder to the upcoming album. it sounds weird to have a cover saying "One Assassination.." for the single titled "Sacrilegious". i would probably do the same if i'd have no a single-only cover image, but i wouldn't like to have a "black square" instead. it's possible that we redirect the single cover File:Nocover.png nothing (talk) 05:45, 27 September 2024 (UTC)

is this a single?[edit]

the more i think of it, the more i doubt the single exists

pros:

  • neither Wikipedia, nor Discogs have a single entry for the single. not sure if there is practice on Discogs adding placeholders to be finished in the future though. regarding Wikipedia, it can be edited by anyone and there might be disputable changes and a editing war sometimes regardless of reliable sources;
  • Manson's YouTube channel seems to publish the song only: no single image cover just showing the album cover, no music video, just an audio per se as a teaser;

cons:

  • just checked Spotify and it really has published it as a single containing three songs (but isn't it a single by mistake?)

not sure if there are more pros and cons nothing (talk) 08:45, 27 September 2024 (UTC)

I'd say that since the label called it a single, it is a single. YT Music has the three songs single, like Spotify. I agree that the lack of a single-specific cover is sloppy, but possibly an attempt to make people get used to the album cover. MindBoosterNoori (talk) 09:56, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
it's really a weird situation when there is no a cover for the single, and the single cover is just the same as the album one even not altering the title (!) on the single cover. let's keep it as is then no matter how weird it is nothing (talk) 10:48, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
