Rehearsal videos[edit]

The rehearsal dates circulating on YouTube are wrong. The current descriptions on the uploaded videos are inaccurate and have no connection to the Memphis tour date, despite claims by the MARILYN MANSON world archives YouTube channel. Another channel, SM Bootlegs, which adds watermarks to videos they neither filmed nor own (and which I'll remove from the wiki as soon as I find them), has further misdated the footage. They mix up date formats like YYYY-MM-DD and YYYY/DD/MM, leading to errors-such as listing 1997/02/04 Lubbock, TX, confusing it with the nonexistent April 2, 1997, tour date, or 1997/03/04 Anchorage, AK, mistakenly linked to nonexistent April 3, 1997.

Okay, so:

  • All four days—#1, #2, #3, and the latest #4—were likely rehearsals without tour dates, probably leading up to the first tour leg on April 5.
  • Based on both the visuals and acoustics, all the videos appear to be from the same venue and probably from the same location just filming the rehearsals with different zooms.
  • "The Suck for Your Solution" was played during these rehearsals but only performed live within this tour leg.
  • It's highly likely these rehearsals took place on four consecutive days (or more if additional footage emerges), possibly from April 1 to April 4, 1997, or April 2 to April 5. The exact schedule is unclear, but I doubt it was tied to the Memphis tour date. The logistics just don't add up—1997/04/05 La Crosse, WI to 1997/04/06 Normal, IL is about 330 miles, then another 450 miles to 1997/04/08 Memphis, TN. Why would they backtrack nearly 800 miles to the north when 1997/04/09 Little Rock, AR is just 130 miles from Memphis to the west?
  • Interestingly, searching for the April 5, 1997, tour date brings up the same stage used for these rehearsals.
