Interlude[edit]

on the setlist[edit]

The interlude between mOBSCENE and Tourniquet was an actual non-improvised instrumental song, I feel that it should belong to the setlist...

hm, that's really interesting! i just copied the setlist from Setlist.fm and there was no mention on that. i've just listened to the track you've mentioned, and it doesn't remind me anything from what i remember of Manson's trackography even close (however, some parts sound kind of similar to the GBWW final synth part to me). any (fan-made?) title of the track mentioned anywhere so we could put it with a "good" name, or maybe let's just put an "Unknown interlude" to the setlist so far? it's even more interesting since it might be a spoiler of the upcoming single (we're now aware of) or a song of the upcoming album nothing (talk) 15:22, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
check https://manson.wiki/w/images/b/b6/2024-08-03-Setlist.jpg , it seems that they're just calling it "Interlude", but it can be just because that's how it is used, much like they don't name the intro's they use when they write down an "intro" (which is also the case for this show.
A better image of the setlist: https://manson.wiki/w/images/thumb/c/cd/2024-08-03-Setlist-held.jpg/798px-2024-08-03-Setlist-held.jpg . - MindBoosterNoori (talk) 15:38, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
thanks. i guess, we might proceed like this:
1) add the intro as something like [[2024 Tour Intro]] without creating the page for it. if i'm not mistaken we had something like [[2009 Intro]] or similar before we renamed it to [[The High End of Low (intro)]]; to be honest i don't even know where that name came from;
2) add the interlude as [[2024 Tour Interlude]] also without creating the page until we have the real name if the latter happens in the future (for example, like Inauguration of the Mechanical Christ).
this might be similar to the 1° case that, if i recall it well, was a fan-made title to the before-Sweet-Dreams interlude for the HUD tour, and later we accepted it as "official" simply putting the redirect to Sweet Dreams just because they sound very similar.
i think, we can put these two to the setlist leaving them red references without creating their pages since we don't (yet?) know the titles. this would probably a better idea just to make them "entities" through the wiki, and do it better than the case we have for the Dead to the World tour where the intro is just entitled "Intro" in the setlists without its dedicated page, however we might call it something like "Dead to the World Tour Intro" and create its page with a notice that the title is unofficial nothing (talk) 16:07, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
edit: in MediaWiki "red reference" pages also play with "What links here" very well, so we can use it as a tool in the future too nothing (talk) 16:16, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
Done. - MindBoosterNoori (talk) 19:05, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
thank you! nothing (talk) 20:15, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

the name[edit]

Rock N Roll experience is calling it "Tyler Bates interlude": https://www.facebook.com/share/v/GvtymUx9dTaQUJSJ/ . Maybe we should change to it? - MindBoosterNoori (talk) 22:55, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

not sure, to be honest. my current pros and cons are:
pros:
* this is a unique and distinct title.
cons:
* too generic name that can fit any interlude performed by Bates;
* Bates, as a songwriter, can play various interludes throughout the tour, so we might run in a situation when there are more untitled interludes;
* it looks like it had to be "Tyler Bates' Interlude" rather than "Tyler bates interlude", and this improper wording might be a sign of a wish to give the video a more or less unique title, or merely attracting the attention;
* all performers excluding Manson also joined Bates who was the most impressive playing it, but we don't know who actually (co-)authored it.
however, i put a confirmation request and the reference for Rock N Roll Experience nothing (talk) 05:51, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
