Marilyn Manson songs that resemble songs by other artists

It's perfectly natural that some Marilyn Manson songs may resemble songs by other artists, both in terms of music and lyrics. Some of these songs have an obvious similarity, while others have a more subjective resemblance that other users may not agree with.

Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death) (2000)[edit]

  • "The Fight Song": The drum rhythm is almost identical to the drum rhythm of "Song 2" (0:00) by Blur (1997).
  • "Lamb of God": The musical tone and the verses closely resemble "Climbing Up the Walls]" by Radiohead (1997).
  • "Born Again": The overall "feel" of the intro to the song sounds quite similar to the beginning of "Setting Sun" (0:00) by The Chemical Brothers (1996).
  • "King Kill 33°": The song sounds almost identical to "Lava" (0:00) by "Ministry" (1996).

The Golden Age of Grotesque (2003)[edit]

  • "mOBSCENE": The chorus in the song, "be obscene," sounds almost the same as "be aggressive" in the song "Be Aggressive" (0:49) by Faith No More (1992).

The High End of Low (2009)[edit]

  • "Devour": The guitar riff in the song intro and the lyrics line "You're a flower that's withering" sound very similar to the guitar intro and verses in "I Luv the Valley OH!" (0:00) by Xiu Xiu (2004).

Born Villain (2012)[edit]

  • "Slo-Mo-Tion": The song bass riff pretty much resembles the bass riff of "Hang Me Up to Dry" (0:00) by Cold War Kids (2007). The "Slo-Mo-Tion" guitar tune at 3:15 also sounds somewhat similar to the guitar riff of "Hang Me Up to Dry" (1:25).
