Eminem[1] is a famous rap singer popular in the late 90s through the 00s.

Eminem spent much of his formative years living in a largely black lower-middle-class Detroit neighborhood, struggling with having only a single mother and being the only white kid in a mostly black neighborhood. At the age of 14, he and a friend began rapping. By twenty, he was having run ins with the law but was also signed to FBT Productions.[2]

After (My Name Is) "The Real Slim Shady", in his second single, "The Way I Am", he reveals to his fans the pressures from his record company to top "My Name Is" and sell more records. Although Eminem had parodied shock rocker Marilyn Manson in the music video for "My Name Is", the artists were reportedly on good terms. Manson is name-dropped in "The Way I Am" and also appeared in its music video, as well as performing a remix of the song with Eminem in concert.[3][4]
